A look back on LGAT Education Conference

A few days have passed since the Trust’s largest ever training day – but it is hoped staff feel its impact for a long time to come.

Chair of the Board of Trustees Philip Bond praised the organisation behind LGAT’s Education Conference, held across its three sites in Louth and attended by more than 500 teaching and support staff from across the Trust.

The content had been “extremely enjoyable”.

“Moving about between sessions and being present at various breaks, it was impossible not to pick up the buzz and vibe that lasted the entire day,” Mr Bond said.

“As a Trust, we can be proud of what was achieved, and the speakers were extremely complimentary about the enthusiasm they felt generated by the event.

“It was great to see staff meeting colleagues from other Academies and renewing old acquaintances.

“I must pay tribute to those involved in any aspect of the day, whether it was booking speakers, directing staff around sites, driving mini-buses or directing people where to park.”

Executive Principal at Louth Philip Dickinson was delighted the efforts of his senior leaders and wider team had been worthwhile.

“We received fantastic feedback on the day from colleagues across the Trust and our guest speakers were also generous in their praise for the event and the organisation behind it,” he said.

“But we don’t want it to be remembered as a great day with little long-lasting impact.

“Continued professional development is at the core of the Trust’s ethos. I know colleagues at all levels will have benefited from our excellent speakers and are putting into practice what they picked up.

“It was also a day to renew friendships, build networks across our Academies and share best practice.

“From the feedback in the days after the event, this is indeed what has happened.”

Executive Principal (Primary) Andrew Clark praised the planning that went into the event.

“The day was a great success,” he said. “It was terrific to see teaching and support staff from our primaries getting so much out of the conference.

“The range of speakers and topics discussed ensured everyone who attended was engaged in sessions across the day.

“It was lovely to see so many staff collaborating and reflecting on best practice together.”
