Early Years Expansion
Pilgrim Academy have now opened a brand-new Early Years Learning Environment.
Due to increasing numbers, the Nursery and Reception areas of Pilgrim Academy have been expanded to allow for further development.
The total build cost £120,000 which included increased floorspace to enable the Academy to take another group of nursery children as well as providing additional space for existing pupils.
The extension took six months to complete and includes a cosy reading area, craft and create spaces for hand-on experiences and lots of room to play and explore.
The Early Years Learning Environment has been a welcome addition for the children and staff at Pilgrim Academy.
The new and improved space is bright and open with lots of natural light with a focus on spending time creating, reading and exploring.
Pilgrim Academy also welcomes their new Principal, Rachel Clarke to Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust.
Rachel joined the trust from Kelsey Primary School in Market Rasen. She spent 11 years and taught Nursery through to Year 6 and was the Deputy Headteacher before leaving to join Pilgrim Academy. Rachel welcomed the change and challenge to a new role from September this year.
She said: “I taught at Kelsey Primary for 11 years. I was excited to join Pilgrim Academy and have had a wonderful start to my new role. The Academy has twice as many pupils as my last, so it’s a big change, but the staff and pupils have all been so welcoming and it’s great to have so much support around me.”
Rachel added: “We are so pleased with the new Early Years Environment. It’s so light and spacious and the children have loved it so far. We wanted to take the opportunity to really focus on the children’s interests and add things into the space to focus on what they already like to do.”
Pilgrim Academy is the largest primary school in Immingham, and offers education to children between ages 3-11. The Academy was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in all categories in 2020.
If you are looking for a place for your child in September 2024 or in the future, please contact the Academy to arrange a visit.
