Andrew Collins becomes the Trust’s Director of School Improvement, with responsibility across its seven schools.
Andrew, who joined the teaching profession 23 years ago, brings with him vast experience of senior leadership roles. He spent the last eight-and-a-half years as Vice and then Associate Principal at The Vale Academy in Brigg.
Previously Andrew had been Vice Principal at Cleethorpes Academy where he was instrumental in the rapid improvement of standards.
Chief Executive Officer Martin Brown welcomed Andrew to the Trust.
“This is a new and important role and I’m delighted Andrew has joined us,” said Martin.
“He brings with him a vast amount of experience and knowledge which will support the Trust as we look to grow across Greater Lincolnshire.”
The Trust is responsible for the secondary academies of Waltham Toll Bar, Somercotes, Cleethorpes and Louth; Reynolds, Theddlethorpe and Pilgrim primaries; plus Waltham Toll Bar Sixth Form.
Martin said: “We have a fantastic record of school improvement which has had a positive impact on thousands of young people’s outcomes and lives over many years.
“But it is such an important area we felt it needed somebody to take responsibility across the Trust. I know Andrew will lead a collaborative approach to raising standards further.”
Andrew is local to the area, having lived in Cleethorpes all his life.
“I’m really looking forward to the new challenge and working with colleagues to ensure my expertise and knowledge helps improve children’s life chances across Lincolnshire.
“The role is about raising standards across the Trust still further, getting schools ready for Ofsted, making sure outcomes are strong and supporting all aspects of leadership.”
Andrew, married with two children, lives in Grimsby. A graduate of the University of Liverpool, he did his Post Graduate Certificate of Education at the University of Leeds.
He has taught maths and geography. He also had senior roles at the former St Mary’s RC High School, Matthew Humberstone and Lindsey School and has recently passed his National Professional Qualification for Headship.
“I am looking forward to ultimately making a difference to children’s outcomes, in which I have a proven track record. That’s what it’s all about and why I came into the profession in the first place.
“I know this is a good Trust and that it wants to improve further and move forward. I am excited about playing my part.”
